I can’t insist on how much natural ingredients are good for our body. Doctors always show us the importance of home-made foods than outside and processed food. This recipe is the perfect alternative for a Protein shake. It is called “Sattu”. It is basically flour made of roasted channa is loaded with fibre and protein. Also called the poor man’s protein and is inexpensive.

Sattu is pocket-friendly protein which can help you meet your daily recommended intake of protein. Sattu is perfect for summers when you crave something sweet and chilled to beat the summer heat. Sattu is said to be rich in protein, fibre, calcium, iron, manganese and magnesium. Every 100 grams of this superfood contains 65 percent carbohydrate and 20 percent protein. It is made both, salty and sweet and you can pick the taste you like better. Here we have used jaggery to sweeten up.

Ingredients:

  • 1 litre water
  • 6 teaspoons powdered jaggery
  • 6 tablespoon black gram flour (sattu)
  • 3 Pinches black salt

Process:

Pour water into three individual glasses. Add 2 tablespoons of sattu powder to each glass. Now add 2 teaspoons of jaggery to each glass and mix well. Now just add a pinch of black salt to each glass and give a final stir. Your protein-rich sattu drink is ready to be served. You can use buttermilk instead of water to give refreshing twist to the drink. You can also add lemon juice in the end to give a tangy touch to the drink.
