The trailer of Harish Shankar’s Varun Tej and Pooja Hegde starrer Valmiki released today. The complete makeover of the raw and intense looking gangster Gaddala Konda Ganesh to the super smart good-looking hero Gani is done by Mega Prince Varun Tej quite naturally and with ease. In both the avatars Varun Tej is looking very solid and showcases his acting prowess. The 2-minute-long trailer is a very self-aware one that starts off with a bunch of women watching a movie and commenting on the dearth of films they can watch with family. Atharvaa Murali, who plays the role of a director, then states that he will make a good film at any cost. Varun Tej is introduced as Gaddala Konda Ganesh, a gangster feared by many. It also shows his love story with Pooja Hegde’s character. Valmiki is based on the Tamil movie Jigarthanda, which was one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year. The film, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, featured Siddharth and Bobby Simha in the lead roles. The film that also stars Atharvaa Murali and Mrinalini Ravi sees music by Mickey J Meyer, cinematography by Ayananka Bose, editing by Chota K Prasad and is slated for release on September 20.
