Kangana Ranaut’s first looks as Jayalalithaa in ‘Thalaivi’ revealed

One of the most talked about upcoming films is Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi. Based on the life of political stalwart, J Jayalalithaa, Thalaivi will feature Kangana as the leading lady. The makers of the film have released the first looks of Kangana as the late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha. In the poster, Kangana can be seen stepping into the shoes of the powerful personality who governed over the state of Tamil Nadu for 14 years as the Chief Minister. In classic Jayalalithaa style, Kangana can be seen clad in a dark green cape with a border and a bottom. With a circular bindi on her forehead just like the late CM, Kangana seems to have nailed the complete look of the actor-turned-politician.

The makers have also shared a first look teaser of the film that documents Jayalalithaa’s rise from a “Superstar Heroine” to “A Revolutionary Hero”. The 1.32-minute clip gives us a peek of Kangana emulating Jayalalithaa’s dance movies as seen in the 1965 film ‘Vennira Aadai’. The clip then cuts through to her waving the victory sign to all her supporters as she addressed a rally. The film also has the likes of Arvind Swamy (expected to play the role of MGR) on board, while the music is by G.V. Prakash. Produced by Vishnu Vardhan Iduri and Shaailesh R Singh and directed by Vijay, Thalaivi is scheduled to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on 26th June 2020.
